Most business founders that I speak with want to work less! The majority are overworked, and frankly underpaid for their brilliance. But last week, I was speaking with a prospect who was actually working the hours she wanted but the business wasn’t where she wanted it.
With a quick self-assessment of her business strengths and gaps, it was easy to see what wasn’t working and where improvements could be made by simply answering a series of questions in my Business Freedom Self-Assessment.

So back to the conversation with last week’s prospect. This business needed more clients – Can you guess which of the 9 key areas was fundamentally missing?
In order to get more clients, this prospect needed to Get Chosen more often to drive more revenue and more profit.
If you look at the Work Less PROFIT More framework below – you’ll see that to Get Chosen, there are 3 components (Vision, Branding, Marketing):
While this prospect had a vague vision for her business, the self-assessment revealed that it was branding and marketing that could be strengthened in order to Get More Clients. Let me explain……
Branding isn’t your logo, your website, your colours and your font! Branding is everything that makes you/your business STAND OUT from the competition – everything down to how you answer the phone, respond to clients, the brand voice, etc.
In today’s online and global marketplace, there is more competition than ever. You have to stand out to ATTRACT clients (deals, capital, etc.). It’s not good enough to be good – you have to appear different and attractive to your ideal client (not everyone, just your ideal client)!
And that my friend is key. Differentiating your business is key to attraction, rather than spending time hunting and chasing prospects.
Then once you know how and why you are different, you can highlight this in your marketing. Differentiation is key to successful marketing.
So then the question is HOW DO YOU DIFFERENTIATE your business (yourself)? How do you cut through the digital noise on social media (or anywhere)?
How do you get noticed?
Believe me, it’s not about:
- Posting a zillion times on 3-5 different social media platforms.
- Wearing a costume and acting funny.
- Endlessly tweaking your website.
It’s about sharing with the world your differentiators in a communication style that will attract your ideal clients to you.
That’s why in this week’s episode of Work Less PROFIT More business podcast, I’ll share with you 9 ways that you can stand out from your competition so you can work less to attract the right kinds of clients that will pay you well for your expertise!

YOU CAN DO THIS!
