In a recent survey of attendees at my SHIFT event, sales skills proved to be the #1 biggest challenge facing the majority of entrepreneurs!!  One of the easiest ways to close more sales is to increase your credibility and you can do that through the use of testimonials!

I can already hear you saying …. yeah but!  Yeah but getting testimonials takes so much time AND how do I get testimonials without being pushy, without feeling awkward and without putting pressure on my clients?  Have no fear — here are 4 simple steps so that you can easily ask for testimonials and get them posted on your website or other marketing material!

STEP 1. At the end of your final client session, verbally ask your client if they’d be willing to give you feedback on working with you (feedback questions below). Then, assuming they say yes, send them an email requesting feedback.  (If you’re a member of the ACHIEVER’s CLUB, you’ll find full email scripts in the Success Library).

STEP 2:  Review each clients feedback and decide what changes you want to incorporate into your business based on their comments.  Next, compile a killer testimonial from your client, using their exact words — yes, that means you actually draft the testimonial for them!!

STEP 3:  Email your client the draft testimonial and thank them for the feedback.  At this point, ask them for approval or edits as they see fit.  Also be sure to request approval to use their name, city, job title, website and any other pertinent details.  Another great addition to their testimonial is a photo!!

STEP 4:  Once you have everything you need, post the testimonial to your marketing material and see your credibility rise.  Sales just became easier!!

Here are some great feedback questions to ask your clients:
1.  What hesitations did you have about working with me?
2.  What results have you achieved since we started working together?
3.  What did you like best about working with me?
4.  How else have you benefitted from our working together?
5.  Would you recommend me and my services?
6.  If so, why and to whom?
7.  Is there anything you would have liked to see done differently?
8.  If so, what?
9.  What’s the most important thing people should know about working with me?
10. Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Guess what …. if you are reading this and have recently worked with me, you can be sure that I’ll be asking you for feedback!  I want to make my sales process easier as well!

Have a great week — take note of the tentative fall dates for my event entitled PROSPER — all about money beliefs and sales!!!
