We’ve started a new 90-days (or the 2nd quarter of the year) and this quarter my theme is GROW! I’m focusing on growing two things: my email list and my client list. (Next week, I’ll talk about growing your email list).
The quickest and easiest way to get more clients is to have MORE sales conversations. It seems like such common sense but it’s often the ONE thing that we avoid the most!
Here’s 3 tips to having more sales conversations:
- Schedule time in your agenda daily for sales calls. You know for a fact that if the time isn’t scheduled in your agenda, it’s easy to get side-tracked or distracted (remember, the bright shiny object syndrome).
- Commit to making a certain number of calls daily. I have trouble keeping to my daily 5 so I created an Excel spreadsheet (click here for a copy). I keep it on my desk — right in front of me so that I can easily SEE where I stand (because I’m such a visual person this is really, really important for me). This past week, it has really helped!
- Persist with your calls because the more you practise, the better you will become at them. At the end of the week, you might want to review what sort of conversion you’ve achieved. If you are having 5 actual sales conversations — how many are you converting into clients? If the number is low, perhaps you need to review how you are listening and asking questions!
So — no – there is no EASY button to increase the number of clients but you do have to take pro-active action! The quickest and easiest way to get more clients is to have MORE sales conversations! Good luck with your daily sales conversations!
