I have this vision (or dream) for my retirement that my sister & I will retire on a small farm in Ontario where the four of us can share one house; one barn; vehicles and all our living expenses. Our house will be a 2 storey limestone house with a sun room addition. Not far away, my husband has his boat moored where he can boat through the 1000 Islands! I’ve been dreaming about this for many years. We have even gone so far as to find a real estate agent and look at some properties.

Often as we approach retirement, we start planning & dreaming about what the next 5 – 10 years (or more) will look like. My question to you is …. what will your business look like in 5 or 10 years. Have you given it much thought? Have you planned out your vision? Your goals? Can you envision this in your mind? Clearly and in detail?
If you want your business to grow and succeed, you must have goals that support your vision. But the first step in the process is creating your vision – a dream of where you see your business in the future. Dreaming is one activity – separate from the planning. Dreaming is the big picture where you let you mind wander. Allow yourself to dream about what will make you happy – what is it that you truly want from your life? from your business? Dreaming is NOT about the ‘omg, how am I going to do it’.
