The holidays can feel like a beautiful mess, can’t they?
On one hand, it’s celebration season.
On the other hand, it’s extra everything, extra people, extra decisions, extra expectations.
And if you’re a woman running a business? That pile gets taller.
Most of the women I work with are juggling year-end clients, hosting duties, family needs, and that quiet pressure to “make it magical.” All while pretending they’re not exhausted.
So let’s take a breath together and borrow a few CEO lessons from the heart of the holiday season, the original traditions before capitalism, chaos, and Pinterest took over.
Here are 5 + my personal +1 I want you to carry into 2026.
1. Celebration matters more than perfection
Every culture has a winter tradition rooted in joy.
So pause. Celebrate the wins you glossed over.
The client you served well.
The boundary you finally held.
The revenue you generated despite the economic weirdness.
Gratitude fuels momentum more than any marketing strategy ever will.
2. You’re the light in someone’s dark winter
The holiday lights show up when the days turn short.
The same goes for you.
Somebody looks up to you, a client, a colleague, a daughter, a friend, even if you forget it sometimes.
Smile. Keep showing up as the leader you already are.
3. Connection is currency
Holiday letters used to be the original “stay in touch” system.
Real, handwritten connection.
That still works, especially in a noisy digital world.
One of my clients doesn’t send Christmas cards. He sends Thanksgiving notes and a pumpkin pie. Guess who stays top-of-mind all year?
Think about how you want to show up with heart and stand out with intention.
4. You don’t have to carry the party alone
Whether it’s dinner or your business, delegating isn’t a weakness.
It’s wisdom.
Hire help.
Let someone else pour the drinks.
Buy the pre-made desserts.
Save your energy for the moments that actually matter.
Your business (and your life) gets easier the minute you stop doing everything yourself.
5. Rest is leadership
A spa day.
A lazy morning.
A stack of holiday movies.
Whatever makes your shoulders drop.
Rest isn’t indulgence. It’s a CEO skill.
Your 2026 results will come from how well you recover, not how hard you push.
And here’s my +1: Plan for the business you actually want in 2026
Don’t drift into the new year hoping for freedom, profit, or better boundaries.
You deserve a business that supports the life you want.
You deserve work you love.
You deserve revenue that feels exciting, not stressful.
You deserve more space for the people and moments that matter.
And I believe, fully, that you can create that.
You can start strong!
Happy Holidays, here’s to a stronger, simpler, more profitable 2026.
Yes, You Can Do This,
Diana
