Did the Cheshire Cat know something about business?
I’m not sure whether the Cat knew about business but the quote certainly implies that if you don’t know where you are going – then it’s difficult to know which road to take to get there! That is true for business as well as this story. You see the most successful business owners are clear on what they want to build before they get caught up in HOW they are going to build it. So they know the road/path/journey they must take to achieve success!
When I wrote chapter 1 of my book, SHIFT Into RICH, I was referring to the same philosophy …. You need to know what you want your version of Successville to look like …. Otherwise, it’s really difficult to find the right road to travel to success!
What does your Successville look like? Are you clear on how many hours you want to work? Are you clear on how much vacation you want to take? Are you clear on exactly how much money you want your business to generate?
You see it’s not enough to say, I want enough money to travel (or to give my kids more, or to have a nice home). You must know that number – you’ve got to get deeper into the specifics.
So why am I talking about this today? If you’re anything like me, this past year has been ‘special’; different, etc. Like many of you, last March I changed the way I delivered my services, and I changed my offerings. I no longer offered live events; but instead delivered through Facebook Lives in my Facebook Group. I offered free Masterclasses and sold into a new, modified program.
But I believe that it’s time for another change!
I know that the world won’t go back to ‘normal’. But I’m now ready to deal with what the new normal will be! It will be a virtual, online world – whether it’s for coaching, training, shopping or life experiences.
I have this strong feeling that it’s time for another adaptation; another pivot; another road to Success.
My ‘Successville’ may be different in the next 3 years – different from what I imagined it to be because I believe my customers (you) have different challenges now.
I’m thinking that perhaps we all need to pause – and take some time to redefine what we want; what we offer and how we deliver our programs.
