One of the simplest ways to think about your 2022 planning is to start by asking 3 simple questions:
What do you want more of in 2022? (what will you replicate more of?)
What do you want less of in 2022? (what will you release and let go of?)
What are you willing to do to make those things happen?
This week, I’ve been pondering those exact questions…
Perhaps you’re like many consultants and experts who are unsatisfied with their current income level and you’re thinking that you want something DIFFERENT for yourself in 2022?
I’m guessing that when you initially started your business, you wanted…
🟦 More time off with your kids or to pursue your hobbies?
🟦 More money for retirement or to pay off debt or to travel?
🟦 More flexibility in your schedule?
🟦 More freedom to express who you are and lead from this place?
Whatever your reason was then, or is now (because we change as we grow), I want you to tap into that reason and take some time to reevaluate a few things:
✓ Is your business giving you what you desire more of?
✓ Is your business helping you become a better version of yourself?
✓ Is your business a joy to co-create with every single day?
And remember this – your business was not built to mimic others.
Your business was not created to be a copy-cat of the people you admire.
You built your business for YOU!
This means you get to choose!
✓ You get to make the amount of money you want to make, even if it is more or less than someone else.
✓ You get to work the schedule you want to work, even if it is more or less than your business bestie.
✓ You get to create a strategy for marketing and selling in a way that feeds your soul, regardless of how other people are doing things to grow their business.
But here’s what I see… I see too many of us caught up in comparison-itis.
If we are not careful, we get wrapped up in the NOT HAVING what they have, instead of celebrating what we do have.
So, here’s your action step – make a big list of what you already have.
My mores include:
➡️ More time off (I don’t work Fridays unless I want).
➡️ More time for my hobbies and passions (I take time off in the summer for boating).
➡️ More money in the bank and investments.
➡️ More love in my home.
➡️ More growth as a business CEO and leader.
➡️ More time with my family (so great to be close to my kids).
➡️ More joy in my body (self-care is no longer a luxury, it’s a must-have).
➡️ More aligned consultants and experts in my community.
All of this comes down to knowing what you want MORE of and being willing to let the rest go – release…
✓ I’m not willing to use ads to grow my business.
✓ I’m not willing to count revenue over true profit.
✓ I’m not willing to grow my business out of alignment with my energy levels or my vision of success.
✓ I’m not willing to crowd my daily schedule.
✓ I’m not willing to work more than 3-4 days a week.
✓ I’m not willing to hustle and launch over and over again.
✓ I’m not willing to compromise on client results.
✓ I’m not willing to be on every social media platform that comes along.
✓ I’m not willing to follow every guru that says they have THE solution.
This brings up an interesting question of trade-offs, doesn’t it?
What are you NOT willing to do, so that you can have MORE of what you truly desire?
This is a reminder that we must not compare someone else’s business model, or their success, or how they grow their business to what we are doing.
Comparison is the thief of joy.
Their MOREs are most likely very different from yours.
Figure out YOUR MOREs and get very clear on what you are not willing to compromise on, and let’s build that together, shall we?
YOU CAN DO THIS
